While the Native American Anasazi Indians did not live in Manitou Springs Colorado, they made their home in the Four Corners region hundreds of miles southeast of the front range of the Rocky Mountains. However, in the 1900's building stones from a collapsed Anasazi site found in the Four Corners region were shipped to Manitou Springs and assembled as a tourist attraction, and as tribute to how the Anasazi people lived and worked around these beautiful cave dwellings.
